Project Background

The research center is responsible for the research, establishment, maintenance, and preservation of national measurement standards and related precision measurement technologies. Equipped with a wide range of high-precision testing instruments, the center has stringent requirements for power quality and voltage stability.

Even short-duration voltage sags may cause equipment shutdowns, abnormal measurement data, or experimental interruptions. For long-term experiments involving continuous data acquisition and analysis, voltage disturbances may also result in data loss and repeated testing. Stable power supply is therefore essential for ensuring measurement accuracy and experimental continuity.

Power Quality Challenges

Precision testing instruments are highly sensitive to voltage disturbances. Voltage sags may affect electronic control systems, sensors, and data acquisition modules, potentially causing equipment malfunctions, inaccurate measurements, or data loss.

At the same time, laboratory environmental systems such as central air conditioning and air-handling equipment also require stable power to maintain appropriate temperature and humidity conditions.

INPOWER Solution

To address these challenges, INPOWER provided a dynamic voltage sag mitigation solution. The project was equipped with one 60 kVA unit with a 2-second compensation duration.

On-Site Operation

Research Center Voltage Sag Mitigation Case

The system continuously monitors the supply voltage and provides rapid compensation when voltage sags occur, helping maintain stable power for precision instruments and critical auxiliary equipment.

Project Benefits

The solution reduces the risk of equipment shutdown, experimental interruption, and data abnormalities caused by voltage sags, helping ensure the continuity and accuracy of precision measurement and research activities.
